The death of the 4-year-old girl from Gjakova, ShSKUK reacts: She was brought in

The Clinical and University Hospital Service of Kosovo has reacted to the case of the death of a 4-year-old girl from Gjakova.

In a Facebook announcement. it is said that the minor requested medical help at around 15:00 on February 17, 2024, at the Emergency Center of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.

"The patient was brought from the Gjakova Hospital, as an intubated case, to the Emergency Center of the KKUK, with vital parameters and a rather serious state of health. In the Emergency Center of the KKUK, all laboratory and diagnostic - radiological analyzes are performed, the doctors of the relevant fields were also called for consultation", the announcement states.

ShSKUK has added that after all the consultations, he is placed for further treatment in the Intensive Care Department at the Pediatric Clinic, with a working diagnosis of Sepsis (severe acute high-grade infection).

"Despite all the resuscitation measures of the pediatric clinic's medical teams, due to his serious health condition, the child passed away on February 19, 2024.
ShSKUK has requested detailed reports from the General Hospital in Gjakovë and from the KKUK and the same will examine them", the announcement further states.

ShSKUK appeals to the public not to speculate about the causes of the patient's death, until the results of the investigation, which will also be taken into account by ShSKUK for further actions.
