Fire in a building in Korça, residents are evacuated due to panic
A fire broke out this afternoon in a building in neighborhood no. 4 of the city of Korça, after a defect in the water clocks.
The fire caused thick smoke at the entrance of the building, forcing residents to go outside due to the danger.
Meanwhile, emergency teams have been engaged to clean the premises and prevent the fire from spreading. The Directorate of Water Supply has stopped the water supply until the burnt clocks are completely fixed.
Residents said that smoke started coming out of the corridor and then, when they opened the water supply doors, they discovered that the water pipes were damaged and water and mud were spreading throughout the building.
One of the residents said: "Now the whole building is flooded, all the pipes are broken, there is no water and all the residents are left outside.
You can't go upstairs, you can't go to the fourth floor, you can't see anything." Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the situation is still under control.
