Blockades at border crossing points, Osmani: Show Serbia's connection with criminal gangs
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that the placement of blockades at border crossing points by Serbia was done in order to create tension and destabilize peace and security in Kosovo and the region.
She said that contrary to all Brussels agreements, Serbia continues to use criminal gangs to carry out continuous attacks on Kosovo and on free movement.
Osmani called on the allies to come out with a public stance regarding these continuous violations by Serbia, as she says, which are violating the rights of citizens.
" Contrary to all the Brussels agreements that have been reached in these 12 years, Serbia once again shows that it does not care about free movement, good neighborliness, on the contrary, it continues to use criminal gangs to carry out continuous attacks on Kosovo and to free movement.
These blockades which have been created recently, which specifically aim to terrorize the Albanian citizens, wanted to use these border points, have only one goal, to create tensions, to destabilize Kosovo and our entire region. But, at the same time, they show the direct connection between the Serbian state and the criminal gangs that have organized these blockades.
I call on our allies to come out with a public position regarding these continuous violations by Serbia, which are violating the rights of our citizens and tend to destabilize peace and security not only in Kosovo but in our entire region" . Osmani said.
Among other things, Osmani said that all security measures have been taken to prevent the creation of tensions within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
The border points in Merdarë and Bërnjak continue to be closed, while in Jarinje it has been reported that there is traffic of cars.
After the closure of five offices of parallel structures in the north by the Kosovo Police on suspicion of falsification of documents, the Organizational Council for Blockades of Serbia announced the blocking of border crossing points.
