Attacks by Serbs, KFOR: 30 soldiers were injured, broken and burned

The KFOR mission in Kosovo issued a statement to the media regarding the situation of wounded soldiers after the tense situation the day before, where Serbian protesters attacked the troops.

KFOR declares that 30 wounded soldiers were injured from the attacks, of which 11 Italian soldiers and 19 Hungarians. According to KFOR, the soldiers suffered numerous injuries, fractures and burns.

"The number of peacekeepers injured during yesterday's violence in the municipality of Zveçan is 30. 11 soldiers from the Italian contingent and 19 from the Hungarian contingent. They suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations and burns from improvised explosive devices. Three Hungarian soldiers were injured by the use of firearms. Their injuries are not life-threatening" , says KFOR.

The NATO-led KFOR mission has increased its presence in the four municipalities of northern Kosovo to ensure protection and maintain order.
