Gjyljeta Ukelli was killed today in Peja, Kosovo by her husband, citizen Edmond Lajqi.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Peja, Shkodran Nikqi. He said that the suspect was arrested and his weapon was seized.
Kosovo media report that he had been convicted of domestic violence. Lajqi, in 2021, was sentenced to a fine of 400 euros.
This is the second murder in a few days in Kosovo. On Friday (April 12), a 21-year-old woman was shot dead in Ferizaj at the Center for Social Work.
