The Special Prosecution in The Hague summons Prime Minister Albin Kurti for testimony
The Special Prosecution Office in The Hague has sent an invitation to testify to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The news was announced by the spokesperson for the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu, through a post on social networks, describing this action as an attempt to influence the outcome of the 2025 elections.
According to Kryeziu, Prime Minister Kurti was participating in a meeting of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement Presidency to finalize the list of candidates for the LVV, Guxo and Alternativa coalition, when the Prime Minister's Office was notified of the invitation from the Special Prosecution Office.
" As the Prime Minister was finalizing the list of candidates for the 2025 elections, the Prime Minister's Office announced an invitation to him from the Special Prosecution Office.
In the past elections, there was a court decision that prevented him from running in the February 14, 2021 election, and now through this invitation, an attempt is being made to influence the outcome of the upcoming elections.
"The goal remains the same, while the method has changed. This is interference by the justice system in the electoral process, " Kryeziu wrote.
