"I believe it is an outside entity that spends large sums of money on propaganda to provoke the two countries to be at odds with each other," says the actor.

Well-known actor Steven Seagal [also known as a friend of Putin] has shared his thoughts about the Russian occupation of Ukraine. Speaking to Fox News Digital, the 69-year-old actor said he views Russia and Ukraine "as one family".

"Most of us have friends and family in Russia and Ukraine," he told the newspaper. "I look at both as a family and I really believe it is an outside entity that spends large sums of money on propaganda to provoke the two countries to be at odds with each other."

"My prayers are for both countries to reach a positive, peaceful solution where we can live and thrive together in peace," Seagal added.

In 2018, Russia appointed the actor as special envoy to improve ties with the US. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced at the time that Seagal's responsibility would be "to facilitate relations between Russia and the United States in the humanitarian field, including cooperation in culture, art, public and youth exchanges."

When Seagal acquired Russian citizenship in 2017, Ukraine barred him from entering the country as fighting between Russian rebels and Ukrainian forces escalated in eastern Ukraine. Seagal's comments on the ongoing conflict come after subcontractor Joe Rogan shared a fake report as if he had published it on 'CNN' claiming that the Under Siege actor had joined Russian special forces stationed near Kiev.

On Monday (February 28th), the 54-year-old podcast posted a fake image of a news report depicting Seagal wearing a special forces uniform with a gun in his hand.

"Intelligence agencies around the world have spotted American actor Steven Seagal among Russian special forces positioned around the outskirts of Gostomel Airport near Kiev, captured by Russian air forces," the fake news report said.
