The Last Pope Before the World Disappears/ Nostradamus' Scary Prediction

Following the death of Pope Francis on Easter Monday at the age of 88, many have turned their attention to the prophecies of Nostradamus, the French astrologer known for his ancient predictions. Some commentators suggest that his verses may have predicted the death of a "very old Pontiff" and the possibility of a possible end to the Catholic era.

In his famous book "Les Prophéties" (1555), Nostradamus wrote: "With the death of a very old Pontiff / A Roman of good age will be elected / Of him it will be said that he weakens the throne / But he will last long." These lines have been interpreted as a warning of possible changes in the leadership of the Catholic Church.

He also predicted a possible successor: "A young man of dark skin, with the help of the great king, will hand over the bag to another of red color." Some speculate that these predictions may have to do with a major change in the papacy and the possibility of a new leader who will face great challenges before a transformation of the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis, the first pope of Latin American origin, spent the last year going through a difficult period of health, battling a severe bout of pneumonia that claimed his life. His body will lie in state in St. Peter's Basilica before being buried in Santa Maria Maggiore, unlike most of his predecessors.

The conclave to elect a new pope will be held in two weeks in the Sistine Chapel, while discussions about ancient prophecies have sparked new debates about the future of the Catholic Church and the role that Pope Francis' successor will have in a rapidly changing world.
