Breaking up with Pique/Shakira: It was like someone stuck a knife in my chest

In an interview for ' Rolling Stone ', Shakira talked about her sensational breakup with soccer player Gerard Pique.

The Colombian singer admits that after the divorce she felt physical and emotional pain.

"The pain I felt was probably the worst I've ever experienced in my entire life. It felt like someone stabbed me in the chest. The feeling was so real," she said.

She also referred to the song "Monotonia" that she released after the breakup. In the song she mourns her relationship and in the video Shakira stands in front of a store and at one point someone punches her in the chest.

"They tried to stop me, they said: 'Think a little. Why would you expose yourself like this? Is more'. Those were tough photos, weren't they? But they were true, that's how I felt," she admitted.
