Movie star Cindy Williams passes away

Cindy Williams, one of the most popular stars in America in the 1970s and 1980s for her role as Shirley opposite Penny Marshall's Laverne on the beloved TV series Laverne & Shirley, has passed away at the age of 75. The news has been confirmed by her family. She passed away in Los Angeles as a result of an illness. In a statement her children Zak and Emily Hudson said:

"The death of our mother Cindy Williams has brought us great pain that can never be expressed. Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was special, beautiful, possessed a great sense of humor and a sparkling spirit. that everyone loved."

Cindy worked with some of Hollywood's most elite directors appearing in projects such as George Cukor's Travels With My Aunt in 1972, George Lucas' American Graffiti in 1973 and Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation in 1974. However, she was best known for her appearance on "Laverne & Shirley" which aired on ABC from 1976 to 1983.

Her acting career began with small roles on television beginning in 1969, with appearances on Room 222, Nanny and the Professor, and Love, American Style. Williams was married to singer Bill Hudson from 1982 to 2000. Hudson was the father of her two children.
