Proposal of the Tirana International Film Festival, candidate for the 'Oscar' award

The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) was the first and only festival in the world to propose the film "The Red Suitcase" to be nominated in the "Best Short Film" category at the Oscars 2023. The film "The Red Suitcase", directed by Cyrus Neshvad, was proposed only by TIFF and was selected among 94 proposals from the best festivals in the world, which, like TIFF, have the quality of "Oscar Qualifying".

Festivali Ndërkombëtar i Filmit në Tiranë (TIFF) është eventi i parë dhe më i madhi ndërkombëtar i kinematografisë në Shqipëri dhe që prej vitit 2003 shënon një ngjarje të rëndësishme për industrinë e filmit. Qëllimi i TIFF është krijimi i një pike takimi për kineastët, producentët, distributorët dhe adhuruesit e filmave. Në vitin 2018, TIFF u kualifikua për të nominuar filmat me metrazh të shkurtër në Oscars. Në maj 2022, TIFF u vlerësua nga Akademia Europiane e Filmit si një nga festivalet më të mira në Europë për të nominuar filmin më të mirë europian me metrazh të shkurtër për edicionin e radhës të Çmimeve Europiane të Filmit (EFA Awards).

"We are happy to inform you that the Tirana International Film Festival has been selected as one of the 29 best European film festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Locarno and others, to nominate the best European film short film for the European Film Awards," announced in May 2022 the director and co-founder of TIFF, producer and cinematographer Agron Domi.
