Xhaka comments on the moment when he played in Serbia: It was not an easy decision for me to go there
Switzerland's captain Granit Xhaka has spoken for the first time about his trip to Novisad, Serbia, where he faced Belarus in the qualifiers for the Euro 2024 European Championship.
He said at the press conference before the match that Switzerland will play tonight, that it was not an easy decision to go there, but the great desire to help Switzerland made him take such a decision after consulting with coach Murat Yakin.
"I had a very good conversation with Murat Yakin before the match about going or not. It was always clear to me that I wanted to come and play football. It was not an easy decision for everyone involved in this situation. But I'm glad that we came back with three points", said Xhaka who scored a very nice goal against them.
Xhaka is expected to play his 112th international for Switzerland tonight against Israel.
