The leader of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac, stated that the meaning of the protests was not to bring down Vucic by force, but rather to arrive at fair elections which would enable for these authorities to change.

In an interview to the Macedonian television Telma, he said that the opposition was convinced that it could win if the conditions for the holding of elections were fair and honest, in the event that there were free media and an independent judiciary and everything necessary for a democratic atmosphere.

Lutovac underlined that the sense of the protests was not, as some would like to present it, to by force and by bursting into institutions, overturn the authorities, but rather to force those who ignore the will of the citizens to respect the laws and the Constitution and enable free and fair elections.

He said that the Serbian opposition was not demanding early but rather fair elections, because of which it was, for him, quite all right for them to be held in March next year.
