Number of COVID-19-related deaths in Albania reaches 22

The number of COVID-19-related deaths has reached 22, electronic media report. The latest deceased is a 90-year-old man with severe previous lung issues. As announced by the Ministry of Health and Social Care in the daily briefing, the number of people infected with Coronavirus in Albania has increased to 377 with an increase of 16 in the last 24 hours.

In related news, electronic media report on the case of a 79-year-old man from Poliçan testing positive to COVID-19. The man is reported to have been in contact with several people before showing signs of the infection, with authorities following up on the situation. Poliçan Mayor Adriatik Zotkaj confirmed that the entire city – about 10,000 inhabitants – would now be quarantined, as many suffer from pre-existent lung conditions and professional diseases due to their work in the city’s weapons plant.
