PM Hoti Claims “Final Agreement” Between Serbia and Kosovo to

The next meeting in Brussels later this week will see the start of the drafting of a “final agreement” between Kosovo and Serbia, Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said on Monday.

At the Thursday meeting Kosovo will be represented by a “state coordinator” for the dialogue, who will be appointed soon, Hoti said after talks with Lulzim Basha, leader of the Democratic Party of Albania.

Hoti dismissed the notion that this meant a continuation of technical dialogue, stating that “only the issue of mutual recognition and normalization of relations between the two countries” will be on the table, Pristina Insight website reported.

“There is no technical dialogue but only a political dialogue for mutual recognition and normalization of relations,” he added.

Neither on Thursday nor at any time, Djuric retorts: Commenting on Hoti’s announcement, the director of the Government Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, said that the Prime Minister of Kosovo “deliberately deceives, above all, the domestic and international public, that an agreement on the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo will be discussed in Brussels on Thursday or at any time”.

“Hoti can only dream of recognizing the independence of Kosovo and he is getting further and further away from it by each day, whereas he and [Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader] Isa Mustafa can only recognize each other”, Djuric said in a written statement.
