Attack on Black Sea fleet, Russia releases video to disprove Ukraine
Russia has confirmed through a posted video that the commander of the Black Sea fleet is alive, despite Ukraine claiming to have killed him.
It is not clear when the footage was filmed, where Viktor Sokolov appears in a video link with the defense minister. The ministry said that the meeting with senior officials took place on Tuesday.
Ukraine's special forces said Monday that Sokolov and 33 other officers died in a missile attack on the fleet headquarters in Sevastopol, in occupied Crimea.
On Wednesday, a TV channel run by the Russian defense ministry showed a video interview with Sukolov, during which he said the fleet was performing successfully
