Trump criticizes Biden's apologies and questions his motives

In a first-ever television interview with Fox News, President Donald Trump asked why Joe Biden did not pardon himself and accused the former president of personally benefiting from some pardons.

"And, you know the funny thing — maybe the sad thing — is he didn't forgive himself. And, if you look at it, it was all about him," Trump said, adding: "The money went to him."

Trump again attacked Democratic Senator Adam Schiff. "And I heard that Schiff went to him and apologized, because Schiff is a fraud," he said, and asked why Schiff didn't get an apology from Biden.

Trump also commented on the investigation of Biden and 2016 Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

He noted that while he was often asked to pursue investigations during his first presidency – particularly against Clinton – he chose not to do so.

"You know, I've always been against this with presidents and Hillary Clinton. I could have done Hillary Clinton - a big number of her. I didn't want to," he told Sean Hannity on Fox News.

"Well, I went through four years of hell with this scum that we had to deal with. I went through four years of hell. I spent millions of dollars in legal fees and I won, but I did it the hard way. It's really hard to say that they shouldn't go through that too, it's very hard to say that," Trump said.
