The Israeli army continued its bombardment of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning. The attacks that took place overnight and yesterday, were the most intense since the bombings in 2014, reports AL Jazzera .

Health officials in Gaza said at least 36 Palestinians, 10 of them children, were killed Monday night after Hamas fired rockets from coastal territory toward Israel. Meanwhile, at least 250 others were injured. At least five people have been killed in Israel in recent hours. Hamas said it was acting to protect Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli "aggression."

In recent days, in the area where this mosque is located, which is a holy place for both Muslims and Jews, there have been serious clashes between the Israeli police and the Palestinians, from which dozens of people have lost their lives and hundreds more are wounded.
