Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has come under fire after he was filmed hitting a child during a bridge inauguration ceremony in the city of Riza.

In a Reuters post on Twitter, the video shows Erdogan in front of several children holding the inauguration ribbon. One of them cut the ribbon in front of the Turkish president, a gesture that apparently provoked Erdogan.

Erdogan hits the child on the head and scolds him for the action. The moment captured on camera has provoked not at all pleasant reactions from the public, which has criticized the Turkish president.
