Former MP Ervin Salianji has recounted for the first time his 7 months of isolation in an exclusive interview with  Politiko.al.

Beyond the long days and nights between the gray walls as he describes them in his Fier prison cell, Salianji has also spoken about the electoral campaign, the first one he finds and will follow in isolation. 

Asked how he assesses the role of American strategist Chris LaCivita and his strategies imported from
the US in the Democratic Party campaign, Salianji calls it a major event for small Albania.

According to him, his presence is an impetus both in changing the perception of the opposition, but also in a different campaign oriented towards the concerns and daily problems of citizens. 

"It is undoubtedly a great event for small Albania that the chief strategist of the US President's campaign is engaged in Albania, and undoubtedly a great boost for Democrats and the Democratic Party who are fortunate to have his advice, contacts and extraordinary experience. I have followed his messages, and the emphasis he has placed on free and fair elections and on not allowing the persecution of the opponent by the government are the words that the country and all citizens need, not just Democrats.
His presence is an impetus both in changing the perception of the opposition, but as is clearly evident in the different, concrete campaign oriented towards the concerns and daily problems of citizens; justice, the economy and the rule of law", says Salianji.
