Minister Manja: Who are the officials who would benefit from the Criminal Amnesty?
The Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja has reacted to the opposition's accusations that the changes in the criminal amnesty bill were made to befriend corrupt senior officials.
In Reporter tv, Manja clarified that it is not about high officials who benefit from this amnesty, stressing that the draft law can only include 3 or 4 cases of low or middle officials who would still finish their sentence in June.
"There are 3 or 4 cases of low and middle officials who, even if they do not benefit from the amnesty in June, are released because they have completed their sentences.
Absolutely no senior official convicted by GJKKO benefits from this amnesty. The amendment gives the possibility of reducing the sentence by 1 year for men and 1 and a half years for women. Those convicted by GJKKO for corruption or organized crime do not benefit from the amnesty. "- said Manja.
