Construction without criteria, 9 towers with 299 floors in total are added to Tirana

Nine new towers were recently added to Tirana. The Albanian government, through  the National Territorial Council,  has approved, throughout the year 2023, nine decisions that pave the way for new constructions, with heights from 12 to 58 floors.

"Lana Riverside Residences"  is the newest tower that will be added to the capital.

Positioned on Gjergj Fishta Boulevard, at the former University of Tirana, this building will be 56 floors above ground and 6 floors below ground, with a height of 204.5 meters, in the shape of a cylinder. The tower, part of a complex with buildings of 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 floors, will be built by "Forever Construcion", owned by Lefter Sota, engaged in the field of iron trading.

After "Lana Riverse Residences", in terms of height, the tower named  "Barcelona Tower" is listed , which will be 192.8 meters high, counting 50 floors above ground and another 6 below ground. This building will take the place of the National Bank of Commerce, adjacent to the House of Leaves.

The builder of this tower is the "Bami Holding" company of businessman Besnik Bami.

"Tirana, a construction site without criteria"

These are not the only towers being built in Tirana. For the year 2023, by decision of the National Territorial Council (KKT), permits were approved for nine constructions from 12 to 58 floors. Most of these permits are close to the city center, an already overbuilt area.

Besides "Lana Riverside Residences" and "Barcelona Tower", which are the tallest buildings among the 9 permits granted for 2023, 7 others are also listed, with different typologies.

A building with 25 floors above ground and 5 floors underground,  with service, hotel and residential functions, will be built on "Liman Kaba" street, near Paris Municipality  . Developed by Unico Construction Sh.PK

"Tirana New Boulevard" , a residential and service complex with 41 and 44 floors above ground and six floors underground will be built on New Boulevard by "Smart Construction Invest" LLC "Progeen" LLC

"Green Tower" , a building up to 18 floors above ground and 4 underground, will take shape on "Gjergj Fishta" Boulevard.

"Bazaar Gate " , a 27-story tower above ground and 4 underground, will take place on "Luigj Gurakuqi" street, developed by the company "Bregu" Sh.A.

On the road of the barricades,  a tower with 58 floors above ground and 7 below ground  with multifunctional purpose will be developed by "Nova Construction-2012" Sh.PK. The project and design of the building has not yet been made public.

Po ashtu, një ndërtesë nëntë katëshe do të ndërtohen pranë stadiumit Dinamo.

Kjo godinë nëntë katëshe mbi tokë dhe tre kate parkim nën tokë do të zhvillohet nga “Comfort Development” Sh.P.K.

Ndërsa në zonën e ish-Bllokut, shembja e dy godinave një katëshe do ti lërë vendin një ndërtese 12 kate mbi tokë dhe 6 nën tokë. Godina do të zhvillohet nga “Forever Construction” Sh.P.K, në rrugën “Brigada e VIII”.

Projektet e reja qiellgërvishtëse në kryeqytet shihen me shqetësim nga grupet e aktivistëve politikë.

Projektet që po betonizojnë qendrën historike të Tiranës

Në qendër të Tiranës po ndërtohen gjashtë kulla shumë katëshe, brenda territorit që dikur ishte zonë e mbrojtur historike. Vendimi Nr.582 i Këshillit të Ministrave (me kërkesë të Bashkisë Tiranë), i hapi rrugë tkurrjes së qendrës historike të qytetit.

Kjo ndërhyrje u kritikua nga Kontrolli i Lartë i Shtetit si e pabazuar në asnjë studim të mirëfilltë, veç interesave të biznesit të ndërtimit.

Tirana's rock – a 24-story tower in the shape of the bust of the national hero Skënderbeu, is rising over the ruins of 100-year-old villas on "Broduej" street.
"New Hotel Tirana International" - A 33-story tower that will be the continuation of the "Tirana International" hotel, known as Tirana's 15-story..
Book Building - It is a complex of 4,5,11 and 21-story buildings that is being built just 8 meters from the Tirana Clock, the symbol building of the capital.
"Eyes of Tirana" - The 24-story tower erected in Lulishten next to the Bank of Albania received the "blessing" of KKT in 2017.
"Forever Green" - The tower started work in February 2011. To complete the project of the 25-story tower, it took 13 years after the bankruptcy of the company that started the works, it was completed by the "AlbStar" company.
"Tirana Mount" - A 185-meter tower will be erected in a green space behind the Opera House./Citizens Channel
