"SPAK has gone off the rails!"/ Rama vents his anger at the media: Untrue headline, crazy world

Prime Minister Edi Rama, known for his attacks on the media when he doesn't like the news, has once again lashed out, this time against BIRN, accusing it of manipulating and taking his press office's statement out of context. In a lengthy response, he attempts to justify his double standard on justice, while accusing SPAK of violating democratic standards.

In an attempt to save Veliaj from the scandal, Rama invents a conspiracy theory, claiming that there is no corruption case, but simply a "voluminous novel" about the investigations conducted against him and his wife.

After remaining silent about the arrest of former ministers Lefter Koka and Ilir Beqja, the head of government suddenly remembers to attack justice, because it has finally knocked on the door of his closest associates. In a dramatic tone, he laments the plight of a mother and a child, but forgets the hundreds of families destroyed by the corrupt affairs that his government has supported over the years.

In the end, Rama calls for more "transparency," a word he only uses when the justice system dares to investigate his people. This is the prime minister who once promoted the Justice Reform as the greatest achievement of his government, but now, as justice is approaching his inner circle, he describes it as caught and unjust.

In this "crazy world" of Rama, justice is only good when it doesn't affect his own people!

REACTION:

This tower is from a group called Birn, which claims to fight for the truth and in the meantime brutally takes out of context the response of the Prime Minister's press office! And now this false headline is being spread everywhere, and then it will be said that he said that ... This above is the crazy world we live in. While this below is the statement of the press office in response to Birn's question about whether Erjon Veliaj will be dismissed: Apparently you did not follow the address that the Prime Minister made to the arrest of the mayor of Tirana, where we are in completely different conditions from all previous cases. First, because we do not have a concrete corruption case for which there is an indictment, we are facing a voluminous novel about the excavations carried out in his life and that of his wife.

So, essentially we are faced with a case that creates reasonable suspicion of an investigation outside the constitutional framework and a detention in violation of democratic standards. But it is still too early to draw conclusions, so we reserve the right to take time.

Second, the five-year stance of the Socialist Party and the Prime Minister not to make any comment on any specific case has changed with yesterday's dismissal of the mayor of the capital, to lock him up without trial in a cell and to lock his wife, the mother of a six-year-old son, in her house. This extremely problematic fact for the entire capital, not only for the mayor as a party in the process but also for us as guarantors of the Justice Reform and at the same time of contracts with citizens at the central and local levels, even more so for the metropolis of Albania, requires very serious reflection.

And finally, we would be very grateful to you and any media that, instead of simply reading the detective novel of the indictment, shed light on the evidence that supports or not the thread of those nearly 400 pages. In conclusion, the answer is that not only will the mayor of Tirana not be dismissed from office, but from his arrest has arisen for us the duty to continue to be unwavering guarantors of justice, by promoting as much transparency as possible to get to the truth. Whatever it may be.
