Çuçi "lowers his head" and admits it: Cybercrime is

Some time ago, Albania was attacked by hackers who highlighted the poor security of our country.

And apparently, the time has come for the Minister of the Interior, Beldi Çuçi, to "lower his head" and accept the deficiencies in the security systems.

Çuçi participated in the 43rd meeting of policemen of European capitals, where during his speech he said that Albania had a transformation in the way it has influenced to fight organized crime inside and outside the borders.

Çuçi said that cybercrime is also challenging law enforcement agencies and violating citizens' security.

In the face of cyber attacks, Çuçi said that the State Police itself was not immune to this aggression.

" The challenge for us has been the overall scope of the modernization of the State Police through investments in technology and smart equipment. No one knows better than you that only through the advantages that technology creates, small countries like Albania can make significant leaps and increase the quality of work in the direction of reducing crime in all its forms. And yet, we are aware that the increase in cooperation and the level of modernization in operational work also creates new risks related to security, especially in the virtual sphere, which requires our common attention.

Cybercrime is evolving into a new highly sophisticated form that is challenging our law enforcement agencies and compromising the safety of citizens every day. Even the Albanian State Police was not immune to this type of cyber aggression. Therefore, we have started a new and difficult stage of cyber defense investments. This is a long process and where of course high European expertise from your countries is welcome. With this panorama, I am convinced that the day will continue in a fruitful way , to openly discuss and find practical solutions on the challenges faced by the police in all your countries", he said.
