20 concerns raised by the EP, DP requests a motion with debate in the Parliament

The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group has submitted to the Assembly a request for the development of a motion with debate on the European Commission's report on Albania for 2025.

The request was signed by the chairman of the parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, who requests that the Assembly discuss the findings and recommendations of the European institutions, describing them as issues of particular importance for the country's integration process.

According to the DP, the report and the corresponding resolution identify 20 main concerns, which are related to the functioning of the rule of law, the fight against corruption, the independence of institutions, media freedom, electoral processes and democratic standards.

The opposition argues that these findings require a special parliamentary debate and immediate addressing by Albanian institutions.

Democrats emphasize that the discussion in the Assembly should serve to analyze the conditions and recommendations of European partners, as well as to determine the steps that need to be taken to advance Albania's membership process in the European Union.

The Conference of Speakers is expected to decide whether the request of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group will be included in the agenda for the development of the motion with debate.
