"Partizani" file, former minister: I did not speak with Malltez and

The Special Court continued its examination of the "Partizani" file on Monday, where witnesses summoned by SPAK were heard.

Former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports for the period 2007–2009, Ylli Pango, stated in his testimony that the events discussed date back about 18 years, making it difficult to remember details or specific legal documents.

Asked if he had had any communications with Jamarbër Malltez regarding privatizations, Pango said that he did not remember having talked to him, neither about sports issues nor about privatizations.

"I don't remember talking to Malltezi about sports or privatization. Neither with Mr. Malltezi nor with Mr. Berisha ," Pango said.

Pango also spoke about the condition of the former "Partizani" sports complex, mentioning that at that time there were problems with the administration and use of the territory.

He added that at that time his focus was mainly on tourism and cultural heritage, while sports issues, according to him, were not in his direct attention at the level of administrative details.

"I will not speak with reservations, but I will speak as much as I remember. I have covered 4 sectors. I can remember a law that I initiated myself. It is said that a good part of Partizan was occupied at that time. In one of the first meetings of the government, I was asked to proceed with privatizations. It turned out that I had under my control, the center for casting cultural monuments, an arts center, as well as the multi-sports complex. The part that should be taken over by the ministry should have documentation. Since the Nano government, the order has been given to be taken under administration by the Ministry.

I know that the swimming pool there was not functioning either, because there was an "occupation". I told you that this is a congealed memory, from what I remember but also documents that I read later, published in the media. I don't remember the ministry taking over these facilities. Even as far as the fact of whether or not the Partizani multi-sports club was active, I don't remember. I don't remember if any association was registered. I don't remember that any sports ground was being attacked or appropriated. I didn't have any problems with sports. I focused more on tourism and cultural heritage ", Pango said in his testimony.
