The head of the list for the municipal council of the 'Together We Win' coalition, Ilir Alimehmeti, has shown that the residents of Tirana pay a tax that no one pays in Albania.

Invited to 'A Show' on SYRI TV, Alimeheti said that the education tax imposed in Tirana is illegal and unconstitutional.

" Do you know how many taxes you pay that you don't know you pay?

I will tell you only one tax that only we citizens of Tirana pay, no other citizens, but we only pay it, regardless of the fact, it should be paid or not, surprisingly only we pay it; Education tax.

The education infrastructure tax is mockingly called temporary. Now we are all temporary in this life. Meanwhile, 7 years passed and on December 23, 2022, as a gift for the new year or for Christmas, as you like, instead of a bonus, they approved it for another 3 years. If we do not change on May 14, for another 3 years we will continue to pay a temporary tax, which for family members during the legislature will take these money directly from their pockets.

An unconstitutional tax, imposed in secret, no one saw, no one knows. And this is for family members, while for businesses it is over 1.5 million',  Alimehmeti said.
