Alizoti makes the denunciation: Elbasan gangs are threatening citizens in their

Tomor Alizoti, the political leader of the Democratic Party in the Elbasan Region, was invited to the show "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, where he made serious accusations, saying that criminal gangs are going to the homes of Elbasan citizens and threatening them for their votes.

"Criminal gangs are threatening people, they threaten people at night and go to their homes, but democracy cannot function when the entire country has turned to narco."

He further said that similar cases occur every day and claims that he also has data from police experts.

"They say that the entire police force is controlled by gangs. Either chocolate or a beating, this is the reality in Albania. When I move from Elbasan to Tirana at night, the police stop me and meet me because they are afraid to meet me during the day," he said.

Tomor Alizoti, the political leader of the Democratic Party of Albania in the Elbasan Region, stated on the show “Off the Record” with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN that OSCE representatives have privately acknowledged concerns about vote-buying in Albania. “They told me: We believe you. We know the situation is bad, but in the end we only make a report. We cannot stop the process,” Alizoti said.

He added that SPAK should act before the elections and not after the "masquerade" has occurred.

"We can't always end up from one theater to another. The government is capturing every institution, while the opposition faces a closed system," he said.

Alizoti emphasized that denunciations of vote buying cannot remain in diplomatic letters and reports, but must be accompanied by real interventions to protect democracy.
