The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his speech before the Albanian diaspora in Naples, emphasized the importance of the diaspora for the salvation of Albania, emphasizing that as has happened in previous centuries, it will be Albanians abroad who will bring about change.

Special pride for you, for all Albanians who work, live in Naples, in Italy and everywhere else in Europe and in the world. My greatest respect to the citizens of Naples, to the authorities of this city that has radiated for centuries and millennia in Italy and the whole world. Naples is the land of the most distinguished personalities in all fields of humanity. Italy and Naples have welcomed waves of Albanian immigration for centuries, dictated by internal and external invasions.

The wave of immigration after the Ottoman occupation. The wave of immigration after the Stalinist dictatorship. The wave of immigration after the narco-dictatorship. They opened their doors, their hearts and I have boundless gratitude for all your Italian friends. May God bless Italy and the Italian nation. But you too, honest people, hardworking people, wise and dignified people, came to this country for the sacrifice, You came to this country for a better life and gave a great contribution in all fields, a contribution that makes every Albanian proud. In fact, you are today the true national pride.

My friends, we are heading towards the last round of our battle. Towards the 50 days that remain. These 50 days are crucial for the salvation of Albania and Albanians. But, as you know, I have declared with the deepest conviction that this year is the year of the Albanian diaspora. I have declared with the deepest conviction that this is the year of the diaspora, because just like before, centuries ago, it will be Albanians from abroad who will save Albania. So even today we can say as then, Edi Rama, welcome the diaspora because it is coming. It is coming to save the motherland!
