Berisha: SP is afraid of the diaspora vote, all emigrants should vote

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, expressed concern about the lack of will on the part of the Socialist Party to support the right to vote for Albanian immigrants.

He said that the SP is afraid and terrified of the diaspora and attempts to deceive them, calling this an "allergy" towards the immigrant community, which, according to him, has a negative attitude towards the "party of crime".

"I note a great lack of will from the SP, there is fear and terror from the diaspora vote. This is the truth, you have seen how they are being waited for, how they are being driven away. There is an allergy, let's say the reality. Immigration and the diaspora have an allergy to the party of crime, and they are seeing how they can deceive them.

Where do we stand? We stand that every immigrant should have the right to act with any document issued in Albania, regardless of its expiration date. Every immigrant with the right to vote, who exists on the voting lists, should have the right to vote with the biometric documents of the country where he lives. The exclusion of immigrants due to the lack of an Albanian document, and the replacement that he has made with the biometric document of the country where he lives, is a crime at the constitutional level. Whether or not he participates in the elections is determined by the voter list, the law and the constitution.

"We are certainly following it, we are ready to vote for changes for the sake of immigrants, but changes that truly serve them and not their selection ," Berisha said.
