In the 100th Anniversary of the Albanian Forestry Service, the members of the Department of Forestry in the DP, Head of the department Hasan Cani, members Dhimiter Pina, Rita Xhorxhi, Nazmi Ajazi, Ilir Hoxha and Agim Tafazi, met with the Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha.
They noted that this 100th anniversary finds the National Forest Service on its worst day. In the assessment of the Department, forest specialists are out of work, while in their place there are patronage workers employed by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the National Forestry Agency, the National Agency of Protected Areas and in every Municipality.
They noted that funds for forests and protected areas for the period 2014 to date have not gone in the designated direction, but have been corruptly appropriated.
From a study conducted in 2019-2020, it was found that 70% of the personnel are without relevant forestry education and no Municipality has set up forest and pasture management structures in accordance with the requirements of the law.
