Violence in CEAZ no. 30 in Tirana, Këlliçi: Secretary Remzi Mehmeti was attacked, the perpetrators fled in front of the police

Violence in CEAZ no. 30 in Tirana, Këlliçi: Secretary Remzi Mehmeti

Electoral tensions have peaked today in the Tirana district, where the political leader of the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi, has publicly denounced the rape of the secretary of CEAZ no. 30, Remzi Mehmeti.

According to Këlliçi, Mehmeti was attacked by unidentified persons after a clash that arose over the validity of a ballot paper that showed two Socialist Party candidates, including Ornaldo Rakipi. The incident occurred inside the CEAZ premises, while Këlliçi alleges that the perpetrators were allowed to leave without being stopped by law enforcement.

" Unbelievably, two cars with the people who raped the CEAZ secretary left before the police arrived. Meanwhile, the door of the CEAZ was closed and only law enforcement officials remained inside. The police came only to conduct a formal check," declared Këlliçi.

He added that Remzi Mehmeti went to Police Station No. 6 to file a criminal report and that the Democratic Party will also take the matter to SPAK, describing the incident as an "electoral crime caught red-handed ."

In his statement to the media, Këlliçi also said that the person who hit the secretary was not equipped with an identification badge and that DP representatives were not allowed to enter the CEAZ premises to monitor the situation.
