After the incident in Kashar, the CEC revokes the accreditation of the observers

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has taken a decision to revoke the accreditations of all observers of CEAZ No. 30, Tirana District, accredited for the Assembly election process of May 11, 2025.

After the incident, the police escorted two people to the police station. Meanwhile, a considerable amount of money was found near the CEAZ, inside a vehicle.

In the officially published decision, the CEC states that this revocation is made in accordance with the Electoral Code and decision no. 23, dated 1.2.2023, on the criteria and procedures for the accreditation of observers of electoral entities.

According to the second point of the decision, CEAZ No. 30 is obliged to assign one observer for each counting table for each electoral subject, while in the case of coalitions up to three observers.

The CEC decision enters into force immediately and has been published on the institution's official website. Parties who feel affected by this decision have the right to appeal to the Complaints and Sanctions Commission within 3 days of its announcement.
