Rei Nozlli has been escorted to the police station after a violent incident that occurred at the premises of the Vote Counting Center in the Kashari area, where he punched the secretary of the Zonal Election Administration Commission (KZAZ) No. 30, Remzi Mehmeti.

The incident occurred in the presence of commissioners, observers and representatives of political forces, causing chaos and a temporary interruption of the vote counting process. According to preliminary information, Rei Nozlli has been identified as one of the observers of the Socialist Party candidate, Ornaldo Rakipi.

The incident comes after a clash over the validity of a ballot paper where two different SP candidates were listed, which caused debate and tension between representatives of political forces inside the counting center.

The police intervened after the incident and escorted the perpetrator to Police Station No. 6 in Tirana, while the abused secretary, Remzi Mehmeti, filed an official report about the incident. The Democratic Party has described the case as an “electoral crime caught red-handed” and has warned that it will also pursue the matter with SPAK.
