What is expected to happen on February 11? Ristani shows the cause and

The former democratic deputy, Arben Ristani, says that the difficult situation in which the country is, both economically, socially, but also institutionally, serves as a cause for Albanians to protest on February 11.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Ristani said that the misgovernance culminated in the latest case of the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal, where the opposition claims that he was corrupted by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"The cause of the protest has to do with bad governance. The misgovernance is multifaceted, on many levels, but the misgovernance culminated in what has been described by the Democratic Party, by the Albanians, but also by American personalities, as a knife in the heart of the diplomatic relations between Albania and the USA, so the last case of the FBI agent and his corruption by Prime Minister Rama. This is the boiling point, this is the icing on the cake, because there are many reasons to protest.

As the main one, I would mention the breakdown of the democratic system in Albania, the dysfunction of the institutions, which has led to an increase in poverty, an increase in corruption, and the departure of Albanians from Albania. So it's the whole picture we live in, as a cause for a protest. What we expect from the protest is that the anger of the Albanians will be increased to the extent that the protest is such that it creates the conditions for the removal of Prime Minister Rama from the government", he emphasized.
