Këlliçi: Veliaj cannot be punished as an ordinary thief, he must

DP Presidency member Bellin Këlliçi commented again on the arrest of Mayor Erion Veliaj.

Invited to Syri TV, he said that Veliaj cannot face justice just as a thief, but must account for the 130 million euro affair and that the Tirana incinerator deserves an answer.

Këlliçi : When I entered the race for Tirana, I entered with a different model to talk about the endemic corruption in the Municipality of Tirana, to preserve the budget in the Municipality of Tirana, to give the model of an uncorrupted politician and to campaign with soul and heart. For all those who were concerned about my electoral position that I had then pointing my middle finger at corruption, for all those who beat their chests and were proud that they defeated us by 58 thousand votes even though without a seal, without a logo, without media, without finances, without anything, without any logistical means, without the name of the party leader on the ballot, today they have received their answer. But, it does not end with today.

We will follow all our accusations, all the corruption files to the end. Albanian citizens, the special prosecution or the GJKKO cannot think that this banal thief, Erion Veliaj, can end it with that, be punished as an ordinary thief. No! It is a 130 million euro affair, the Tirana incinerator that deserves to have an answer and deserves to go to the end of that file, and it is the '5 D' file that deserves to be its head. The special prosecution should come out and say, is Erion Veliaj responsible for this or not. We are not backing down a single millimeter, and why today the most banal thief that the capital of Albania may have ever had, such as Erion Veliaj, was arrested.
