At this meeting, Self and Mediu stressed the importance of protecting democratic processes, focusing on election security and the need to guarantee free and fair elections. They noted Albania's obligation as a NATO member to ensure an electoral process free from the influence of organized crime, corruption, vote buying and voter intimidation.
