Maliqi: Government and mafia together, justice captured

The Political Secretary of the Freedom Party for the District of Berat, Lefter Maliqi, has denounced organized crime in Albania this Friday, claiming that the mafia and the government are intertwined to the point that they also control the justice system in the country.

Lefter Maliq's statement

"I am here on behalf of the Freedom Party to denounce organized crime in Albania and the capture of justice by the government-linked mafia. Order, security and governance in the country are in complete decline, while powerful gangs with extraordinary wealth run drug traffickers and appoint high-ranking officials, up to ministers and police directors, exerting direct influence on the Prime Minister to manipulate electoral processes."

Maliqi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims in Shkodër, describing the event as an organized criminal act with the involvement of high-ranking figures. He expressed the belief that the future of the country will return to the hands of the united opposition and honest socialists disappointed by the current government.

"The State Police, outside of its mission, acts violently and unconstitutionally by arresting high-ranking personalities such as former president Ilir Meta, a figure known for his patriotic contribution. Justice in the country has been seized by the government, and the latest arrests are the latest proof of that."

Maliqi also promised that the Freedom Party will commit to restoring order and security in the country, proposing salary increases for the State Police and cracking down on criminal elements linked to politics and the "Renaissance."
