"Millions of euros investment to convict the leader of the Opposition"

By Grigels Muçollari
The new justice, for which there were many expectations, so far is showing that those tens of millions of euros thrown by Albanian taxpayers and foreign donors, for salaries, human resources, training, facilities and logistics, have been invested to convict the leader of the Opposition, a pure political process.
Without evidence, without facts, without his signature on any document, decision or order, with a file that is more journalistic than legal, where surprisingly traces of abuse have been left by the Prime Minister who demands the arrest of Berisha.
However, SPAK closed a long saga of investigation and took the chairman of the Democrats as a defendant.
No attempt by the new judiciary to show that it has implemented the law and the Constitution, which is guided by the principles of a fair and objective investigation. From the beginning, this has left the taste of a political message, of an agenda.
What did SPAK accomplish in this case, did it fulfill any of the major objectives why it was created, and did it serve society?
Unfortunately not.
There is no achievement in the goal of uprooting impunity, because in the eyes of all Albanians it is clear how much immunity SPAK has given to Erion Veliaj or Edi Rama, by amnestying them from the biggest affair of these years as it is that of incinerators. SPAK has created a caste of untouchables. This is understood every day by young and old. Rama and his close circle rule the most corrupt country in Europe, they are immersed hand and foot in violations, but they continue to be above the law.
On the other hand, with the revenge of Sali Berisha, the new justice does no service to the oppressed and blackmailed society. By prosecuting, arresting and indicting the strongest voice against the crime of corruption in the country, SPAK unfortunately contributed to people lowering their heads even more, being less critical, accepting evil in silence.
This flagrant action takes place on a sunny day. What the citizens saw as hope, the new justice, is unfortunately emerging as one more department in the renaissance authoritarian regime, of bad and suffocating governance, which has brought Albania to this brink of the abyss.
One more motive for discontent and revolt is emerging.
A new injustice is emerging.
There is always a solution, and the evil dreams of the rulers never come to an end. There is a higher justice that people have in their hands. Free vote.
