Former minister and former DP MP, Genc Pollo, announces that he will no longer run for MP in the Albanian Parliament.

In an interview with Panorama, he said that after 25 years of parliamentary career, he has decided to focus on other projects.

"No, I do not intend to run. I made up my mind four years ago and I have told everyone who asked me. I was elected to the Assembly for the first time in the distant year 1996; from then until 2021, I will have been an MP for 25 years. It is not necessary to continue with the same thing. One can also do other interesting things in life, such as different projects, more reading and writing; activities with Paneuropa Albania, an association that I have headed for years ," said Pollo.

Asked what his relationship with the DP will be like, he said that he will be an active member. 

"I am an active member of the neighborhood section with Ms. Rina as the chairperson; I am also in central forums, but they do not meet that often. Then from time to time I appear on TV where I give my opinions on public issues, which often roughly coincide with the DP. I go to the protests organized by the DP. I have also regularly gone to the Friday protest in front of the municipality ," said Pollo.
