SPAK seeks to convict Bardhi, Special Court declares him innocent

Judge Flojera Davidhi has rejected SPAK's request and declared Democratic lawmaker Gazmend Bardhi innocent.

The Special Prosecution Office requested the guilty verdict of Democratic MP Gazment Bardhi for "defamation" against Edmond Sula, the former head of the Shkodra Police.

In today's session, after the partial reopening of the judicial review, the court administered SPAK's response to the SKY ECC codes claimed by MP Bardhi.

SPAK has confirmed that the relevant codes belong to the file of a case under investigation, but due to investigative secrecy, it has not made the content of the requested conversations available.

On the other hand, Bardhi's lawyers told the court that their client is innocent, arguing that the statements in parliament were made in his capacity as a deputy and in the interest of public opinion.

Sulaj sued Bardhi for "defamation" and "insult" due to the latter's statements in a plenary session of the Parliament in September 2024, where he stated that Sulaj had been appointed by gangs to head the Shkodra Police.
