In a strong statement, the head of the Democratic Party's parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has accused the Minister of Interior and the State Police of inaction and attempts to obstruct justice, in connection with an attempt by Tirana Municipality directors to intimidate judges and prosecutors.

According to Bardhi, this action is part of an institutional fraud aimed at protecting individuals accused of corruption, such as Erion Veliaj, and using the state to support those under investigation.

He demands that the Minister of Interior and the Director of Police be dismissed and prosecuted, emphasizing that this situation has created a great danger to the justice system and has brought about an institutional crime against the judicial power.

FULL POST

The Minister of Interior lied publicly yesterday and misinformed the Albanian Parliament regarding the inaction of the State Police against the mafia attempt by the corrupt directors of the Municipality of Tirana to physically intimidate judges and special prosecutors while on duty.

This institutional and public deception by the Minister of Interior also proves the authorship of the political order to prevent justice from holding anyone accountable before the law, regardless of their status.

Erion Veliaj is not above the law. He is a close friend and associate of Edi Rama, but the latter cannot misuse the state and the State Police to come to the aid of a person who is being investigated for corruption and money laundering.

Edi Rama may choose to be Erion Veliaj's lawyer, but he must do so privately, not by misusing state institutions.

The inaction of the State Police, which according to the GJKKO and SPAK, has put the lives and health of judges, prosecutors and administrative staff in danger, cannot be passed over in silence.

The Minister of Interior and the Director General of the State Police should be immediately dismissed from office and prosecuted.

On the contrary, Edi Rama's inaction makes him not only directly responsible for the situation, but is also a coup d'état of the executive branch against the judicial branch, applying the mafia principle that if the court and prosecution convict and investigate without permission, then they will be alone and without the protection of the state. This would not only be unprecedented, but CRIMINAL!
