Dismissal of the mayor of Kuçova, KAS 'follows the ball': Let

The Complaints and Sanctions Commission has accepted the request of Lefter Maliqi, the former candidate for the municipality of Kuçova, regarding the mandate of Kreshnik Hajdari.

The CEC Complaints and Sanctions Commission ordered the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, to return to the issue and make a decision whether Hajdari's mandate will continue or be terminated according to the decriminalization law.

"It's up to the commissioner to decide," the KAS members continued.

Hajdari was finally sentenced by final decision in July 2024, to 6 months in prison, converted to probation.

But according to the Criminal Code, upon the end of the probationary period, the sentence is considered null and void. For this reason, Hajdari is currently unconvicted.
