The government announced December 6 as an official holiday for Tirana. Another measure that was taken within the framework of the EU-Western Balkans summit is the "armoring" of the capital.

The police is preparing a plan of strong measures, the level of which seems to be the same as those undertaken when the former US Secretary of State John Kerry or Pope Francis came to Tirana.

It is expected that more than 1,200 police officers will be deployed to ensure the success of the summit. After the arrival of the European leaders in Tirana, apart from the delegations, it will be impossible to pass the security perimeter along the boulevard "Dëshmorët e Kombit".

Meanwhile, on the same day, the opposition will hold a protest in front of the prime minister's office. The rally permit was refused by the police and it remains to be seen how it will be processed on December 6.

The summit meeting will take place at the "Air Albania" stadium. The EU officials and the leaders of the Region will arrive around 10:00 in Tirana and the meeting will continue until 13:00 for lunch.

While at around 15:00 a joint conference is expected to be held between Prime Minister Rama, the President of the EC, Ursula Von der Leyen and the President of the European Council Charles Michele. Special press conferences may also be held by other European leaders.
