The suspected perpetrator of the murder of an Albanian in the center of the city of Rüsselsheim has appeared before the Regional Court of Darmstadt, where he confessed his version of the tragic event.

At the court hearing, the 41-year-old Albanian admitted that he had shot his compatriot, arguing that he had done it out of fear and for reasons of honor. He was arrested in Sweden a month after the crime and is currently charged with murder.

According to the indictment, the conflict between the two Albanians had started for the control of the cocaine trading territories. Tensions between them had escalated, as two months before the shooting, the victim had cut off part of the defendant's ear. This physical attack, according to the prosecution, was seen by the defendant as a serious insult to his honor.

On the day of the crime, the suspect had ambushed the victim in front of a café and shot him. Security camera footage presented to the court showed a masked person chasing and shooting the victim. The defendant stated that he had felt threatened by the victim, emphasizing that before the incident he had also been beaten by the victim and his four accomplices.

Regarding his criminal activity, the 41-year-old explained in court that the drug trade was aimed at financing his own personal consumption. He emphasized that on the morning of the day of the crime, he had tried to talk to the 45-year-old, but after his insults and threats, he decided to shoot.

"After he left and continued to curse and threaten me, I continued to shoot," the accused stated.

The trial is expected to continue on May 6.
