Economy expert: Reducing the price of energy by 1 lek is an 'electoral ploy'

Economy expert: Reducing the price of energy by 1 lek is an 'electoral

Economics and finance expert Zef Preçi said that reducing the price of energy by just 1 lek is considered an electoral "cheat".

Invited to Syri TV, Preçi states that essentially, this does not change anything major since only 50 thousand families spend over 700 kWh.

" It should be said that in measures of this nature, the country compares with European Union countries. During 2024, 10 EU countries increased the price and 15 decreased it. This is related to electricity sources, structural changes, and management improvements.

In our case, none of this is relevant. It was a carefully pumped-up electoral scam all along. Basically, it doesn't change anything major.

If you look at 35 million euros, only 50 thousand families spend over 700 kcal/h.

I mean, it's an electoral scam. In this specific case, the prime minister didn't say anything about the 'financial health' of the energy system companies.

"There have been no audit reports for 4-5 years. From this perspective, it is an electoral scam, which someone even 'swallows', " said Preçi.
