Cyber-attacks / Court 'overthrows' the Prosecutor's Office, softens the security measures for 5 DAP employees

Cyber-attacks / Court 'overthrows' the Prosecutor's Office,

The Tirana court has decided to ease the security measure for 5 IT officials at the Department of Public Administration, who are accused of "abuse of duty" after the cyber attacks organized by Iran.

The prosecution asked for the measure of "house arrest" for the 5 accused employees, since according to it the employees worked at the DAP at the same time when the administratë.al system was maintained.

According to the prosecutor's office, if the employees had acted in accordance with the Information Security regulation and the Internal Regulation of ANA by updating the viruses, they would have had the opportunity to understand and catch the virus that first affected the admnisitrata.al system in time.

In this way, according to the prosecution, the virus would not have "infected" the ANA system.

The accused persons are:

Alketa Sulo – Specialist, IT Sector in the Department of Public Administration, Responsible, IT Sector in the Ministry of the Interior;

Altin Sallaku – Head, IT Sector in the Department of Public Administration, Head, IT Sector in the General Directorate of Prisons;

Rudina Llagami – Specialist, IT Sector in the Department of Public Administration;

Igli Lubonja – Specialist, IT Sector in the Department of Public Administration;

Albi Gjeka – Specialist, IT Sector in the Department of Public Administration.
