Sociologist Gëzim Tushe commented on the event that recently shocked Durrës and beyond, where 3 children were arrested for the murder of their 50-year-old father, Pëllumb Meta.

In an interview on Report TV, Tushi described the event as a macabre crime and added that the reason for such events is the breakdown of relations between parents and children.

He underlined that before going to such an action, the children could have filed a complaint with the police regarding the claims they had that their father was violent and authoritarian.

" Relationships between parents and children are broken. There is a kind of conflict between parents and children. Some parents want to parent in the way that they think they can do as they want with their children. An old model. But there is also other cases where children misbehave with their parents. We have phenomena of abandonment. The stability of Albanian society is breaking.

"Such a criminal act cannot be justified just because their father may have been authoritarian. Solutions with weapons and death are unacceptable, they are medieval macabre. Such contradictions can have different families, but this does not mean that we should kill the parents", said the sociologist.
