The farmers of Maliqi protest about the prices, physically clash with the police

Farmers from the Maliqi field have blocked the Korçë - Pogradec axis from the Drithas intersection to the vicinity of the Symiz village.

The cause of this protest was the low prices of agricultural crops of wheat, corn and potatoes.

Farmers say that the stock of products this year has also arrived as large quantities of these agricultural crops are imported from countries in the region at a cheaper price than that of the local market.

The blocking of a road segment in the Korçë-Pogradec national action by the protesters has brought tensions between the latter and the police.

The police have asked the organizers not to block the national road as they do not have permission to do so.

Police Director Gjovalin Loka himself is trying to calm down and remove the protesters from the street.
