The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania has reacted after the publication in the show 'Piranhas' of some conversations of the priest Father Nikola Xhufka from Elbasan who was flirting with a man for a homosexual relationship between them.
Through a reaction from its media profile, the Orthodox Church writes that Father Nikola Xhufka does not represent the Orthodox community. It is also stated in the announcement that he has self-proclaimed as a member of the Orthodox community and with his attitudes he is seriously harming the interests of Albania and national security.
The reaction of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania:
"Starting from a video shown on the show "Piranjat" on TV "SYRI" where the self-proclaimed cleric citizen known in the media by the name Nikolla Xhufka, but officially by the name Niko Bllazhde, the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania clarifies the public opinion that Mr. Nikolla Xhufka does not represent the Orthodox Community.
He has long been self-proclaimed as an Orthodox cleric, misinforming the public opinion and harming the image of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, but also setting a precedent that seriously harms the official religious institutions and even harming national security, being supported by some individuals who only interest of Albania do not serve him."
